We took the same path as I took the day before when making my way down to the village into the forest. This time though, I felt a bit more comfortable and a sense of belongingness as I was with other people by my side marching together with the same goal in mind. I thought for a second though, why am I here again and why am I helping these people? I did not even know what I was going to get out of this, but it was better than to stay at a stranger's house all day I guess. Maybe I can repay the lady who helped me in some way as well I thought.
Not long after getting into the woods, we encountered our first obstacle. A sound of footsteps followed us as we got closer to the location of the treasure. A footstep not of a bear or any other creature, but of another human being. We quickly pulled out our weapons to face another group of people with weapons and a map in their hand that looked pretty much the same as the one I brought. It happened to be that the villagers from a nearby island discovered this map somehow and intruded our island to find the treasure. Our villagers became outraged that this information had been leaked to other islanders outside and that they would even attempt to steal what is not theirs. The argument grew larger between the two groups and it eventually became a huge fight. Both sides did not hesitate to use their weapons as their only attention and importance was obtaining both maps pointing to a specific point in the forest we were in. I was a bit startled at this situation and stepped back towards an oddly shaped tree which happened to be the exact spot I had found myself lying on the day I came to this forest from my sleep. I tripped on the branch that had fallen from the tree and my hand landed on a weirdly bumpy surface. I dug a little deeper into the bump and discovered a chest in the midst of chaos. I did not want to intervene in the fight in any way so I wanted to try hiding my discovery until it was over. I quickly grabbed the dirt in the ground to cover the chest back up, but it was too late. The intruders saw me before I could even cover it back half way and came up to me holding a knife up to my neck and their hand reaching for the chest. They threatened our villagers that they would kill me if they tried to stop them from digging this chest out and taking it with them to their island. The kind villagers although, stuttering a bit, replied that they would never be able to give up someone’s life like this for materialistic reasons especially after losing their girl. However, the intruders had already made up their minds. They quickly grabbed the treasure box out of the dirt and before they ran off, sliced my neck which made me fall back into an unconscious state.
Then I felt my consciousness come back again in the morning. I heard the usual birds chirping, the sunlight shining through my window, and my warm blanket wrapped around my body. Something was odd. I was in my room again. I grabbed my neck to feel any pain or see any scars or blood. Nothing. Now the only thing in my reach was the beeping alarm clock next to my bedside table.
